With your donations this holiday season, the organization can continue its mission to ensure every child has the opportunity to live a full and impactful life, regardless of their familial circumstances. On Dec. 3, in honor of Giving Tuesday, a global day of charitable giving held on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, Children of Promise asked for donations to support their Bond Beyond Bars initiative. The program is designed to help children stay connected with their incarcerated parents during the holidays, providing emotional support and strengthening family bonds during a time when these connections are often strained.

Her TEDx talk,  “The Secret of Becoming Mentally Strong,” is one of the most viewed talks of all time. The BLM movement has been instrumental in organizing protests following the death of George Floyd. Its members ask that people report suspicious sites, stories, ads, social accounts, and posts about BLM. The Black Youth Project (BYP) examines the attitudes, resources, and culture of Black millennials. It explores how culture influences the decisions young people make in terms of health, sex, and politics.

By bridging the gap between prophetic preaching and true social activism, the SDPC works to create hope in action, justice and equity, and human rights for all. Black Trans Men, Inc. strives to ensure all trans men and LGBTQ+ people are provided equal access and protections under the law. The company provides mentorship, leadership empowerment opportunities, financial assistance, and various resources that aid in the support of a healthy medical and social transition. Solutions Not Punishment Collaborative is an Atlanta-based organization led by Toni-Michelle Williams, a Black trans woman, fighting for the humanity and survival of Black trans sex workers in the city. SNapCo also Black organizations provides leadership training to help Black trans leaders learn how to organize against mass criminalization. The group is heavily involved in the BLM movement locally, helping to organize and raise funds to bail out protestors and close jails and prisons in Georgia.

HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT BLACK-LED NONPROFITS

ALP is a New York-based organization that dedicates itself to achieving social and economic equality for LGBT communities of color. Black Girls Code is on a mission to increase the number of black women working in computer programming. TWOC offers support and resources for trans women of color, a highly marginalized community.

Members work to advance the laws around children’s rights in the United States and offer several resources on how you can get involved. They also advocate for legal changes that will protect vulnerable children who enter the U.S. themselves or those who are detained and separated from their families. BYP offers several ways people can help its members make a difference, including pitching and writing articles related to racial injustice, LGBTQIA+ issues, and feminism or by making a donation. Giving Gap empowers givers to actively explore and support Black-founded nonprofits by connecting them to causes they care about. Together, we can ensure that we receive the recognition, resources, and opportunities we deserve to forge a brighter future for us all. Efforts must be made to dismantle barriers to reproductive health services, which disproportionately affect women of color, ensuring equitable health outcomes for all.
